What’s new for Spring/Summer 2020 fashion?

Now the clocks have gone forward, we can look forward to lighter evenings and the hope of warmer days to come. Almost time to pack away our winter wardrobe staples and look ahead to what’s hot for Spring/Summer 2020.

Pastels

The catwalks have been full of ice-cream pastel shades of late, from strawberry sundaes to lemon sorbet. Other popular shades are pistachio, peach and even a hint of melon. Whatever your favourite flavour, you’ll be sure to find some pastel perfection next year.  If you want more Mini Dresses in your collection then you could look at sites like https://umay.co.uk/collections/mini-dresses who have a large selection of clothes for you to browse.

Brights

In total contrast to the pretty pastels comes the bold brights. Eye-popping primary colours are also set to take the stage this summer season, from brick-reds to sunshine yellows, deep ocean blues and hot pinks. These colours are reminiscent of a child’s box of colouring crayons and a whole lot of fun to brighten up your wardrobe after the dark shades of winter.

Tantalising textures

There are lots of sensory pleasing things going on this season, as demonstrated by the delightful textures seen on catwalks recently. Fringes, feathers and fluff have all made an appearance. If you want to feel different as well as look different then keep your eyes peeled for the introduction of interesting textures in garments hitting the shops soon.

The Eighties

Everyone is falling in love with the 80s all over again. From TV shows to catwalks, the 80s epitomises big, bold statement fashion. We’re talking the return of the power suit, high waistlines, shoulder pads, puff-sleeves and low necklines. Sadly, even the shellsuit has risen from the grave to appear on a Marc Jacobs catwalk recently!

Perfect Purples

Purple is tipped to be the colour of 2018 – in particular, ‘ultra-violet’, a bright, vibrant shade of the colour. There has been a lot of purple on show at fashion shows so brace yourselves for a serious purple patch. Fancy dabbling in making your own purple pieces? Hands-free Accessories

The names were never attractive – fanny pack or bum bag! However, love them or hate them, they are back for Spring/Summer 2018. Whether worn diagonally, slung low or around the waist – from leather to nylon – there’s one out there with your name on!

Wild West

It seems we’re heading back to the frontier for a touch of the ole cowgirl and boy vibe. Cowboy boots have been spotted line-dancing down the catwalks, some even taking a horror movie approach with blood splattered toes. Whilst we don’t expect to see those in stores, the attractive cut-out patterns and diamante spurs are sure to be a hit.
